BellamyBellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young 19 February 1970)[1She is an American actress, producer and singer. She is best known for her performance as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). In recognition of her performance, she won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Outstanding Supporting actor in an Drama Series in 2014. The actress also appeared in the Fox drama series Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young's acting journey began with theatre. In 1997, she had her Broadway debut as Mary in the The Life cast. The Life. In addition, her Off-Broadway performances include Stephen Sondheim's We Rock Along (1994) and Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). The year 1995 was the year she made her television debut in a recurring role on"The Other World," an NBC daytime soap the show Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. She appeared in the show Law & Order in 1997 and 1998, playing two different roles. In 1999 , she made her film debut by playing a small role in the crime drama Black and White and later co-starred in several independent films. Then, in the beginning of 2000, she was spotted in guest-starring characters on several comedy and drama shows on television, including The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young has had more than 30 appearances on TV series between 2000-2011.
