Niykee is still writing songs despite having been part of the current crisis. Niykee was selected to be part of her participation in YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. Her songwriting routine is now a source of inspiration for aspiring producers. Niykee constantly listens to beats and discovers many which spark thoughts. After 5 seconds, I can tell whether a track is good or not. Then I get an idea of the song and write it immediately. My guitar is set up on the back of my porch and I'll let my lyrics flow. Most of the time, it's done in less than 30 minutes. As she continues develop as a lyricist Niykee notes that her pain from the experiences in the past is a constant source of sources of inspiration. The hurt I experienced growing up and that of losing my sibling are evident in my lyrics even when they are not literally. It shapes my songs and helps to create this greater meaning under everything which is one the most important things for me. I want to be able to say that I could listen to any one of my songs in 20 years later and be happy with what I said.
