Dua Lipa, an English artist and singer was born in London on 22 August 1995. After a stint as a model and actress, she signed with Warner Bros Records. She launched her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album peaked at the top of the charts, number three on the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles including Be The One I.D.G.A.F as well as The U.K. number-one single New Rules which peaked at number Six in United States. Lipa was awarded the Brit Awards in 2018 for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act and her album has been certified as platinum throughout the world. Her parents were Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Due to her maternal grandmother she has Bosnian descent. Also, you can trace Lipa's ancestral ancestors back to Peja within Kosovo. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. She is the sister of Rina Lipa and a younger brother named Gjin. Lipa was heavily influenced by music by her father who was the guitarist and singer in the Kosovan rock group Oda. Her father played music at home and sang songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began to sing as young as six years old. In the year she turned nine, she started singing in the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa has performed her cover of If I Don't Have You as well as Beautiful from Christina Aguilera and posted it on YouTube. Lipa was given a recording contract by Warner Bros. Records in 2014. New Love was her debut single. New Love was released in August 2015.
